Dr. W. Steven Pray

Dr. W. Steven Pray is a Bernhardt Professor Emeritus at the College of Pharmacy, Southwestern Oklahoma State University. During his 42-year academic career, he specialized in self-care with nonprescription products. He wrote the monthly “Consult Your Pharmacist” column for U.S.Pharmacist for 25 years and is the author of over 400 papers in the pharmacy and medical literature. He authored four textbooks on Nonprescription Products. He has provided hundreds of hours of live continuing education across the country. He received teaching awards, as well as the national Lyman Award for excellence in research and the Henry Cade Award guarding the integrity of NABPLEX. He has consulted with legal firms and industry. Finally, he worked thousands of hours as a staff pharmacist in community pharmacies of all types, and he managed a free clinic pharmacy for 17 years.

3. For safe and effective nonprescription dermatological products, be able to communicate use instructions to patients.
4. For safe and effective OTC dermatological products, be able to communicate warnings and precautions to patients.
5. For skin conditions that require referral to another medical practitioner, justify the need for such referral.
